Delete your Cerkel account

How a merchant, or someone on a store's team, deletes their Cerkel account and its data. It covers the website, the admin and the Cerkel app. You don't need to sign in to read this page.

If you own the account

  1. Sign in at admin.cerkel.ai and open Settings → Your data. In the Cerkel app, Settings → Your data → Delete your account opens the same page.
  2. To keep a copy, download your data first: one Excel file per store.
  3. Under "Delete your account", choose "Ask to delete my account", type your business name, then choose "Delete my account".

All your stores close at once and stop taking orders. Orders already on their way carry on, so no parcel is left stranded. We then delete your data within 90 days. Until then you can cancel from the same page ("I changed my mind — cancel the deletion"); your stores stay closed until you reopen them.

If you are on a store's team

Only the account's owner can delete the account. Ask them to remove you in Settings → Team and permissions: your access ends at once and you are signed out everywhere, the app included.

To have your own login deleted as well (your name, email address, WhatsApp number and password), email us as described below. If you also work on another Cerkel account, your login stays for that one.

If you can't sign in

Email support@cerkel.ai from the email address on the account and tell us which account to delete. If you sign in with WhatsApp, write the account's WhatsApp number in your email: we will contact you on that number to make sure the request is yours before we delete anything.

We reply within 30 days. Once we know the request is yours, we delete as this page describes, within 90 days.

What we delete

Everything in the account: your stores with their settings and design, products and their photos, orders and their history, your customers' names, phone numbers and addresses, WhatsApp messages, delivery and cash records, reviews, reports, your team's access and your store's activity log. We also delete what you typed when you signed up on this site, such as your phone number and store name, and how you found us.

Your team's logins too, except for anyone who also works on another Cerkel account: name, email address, WhatsApp number, password, two-step verification and every signed-in device, the Cerkel app included. Uninstalling the app removes what it keeps on your phone.

What we keep, and why

  • An empty record for the account and for each store, with no name or contact details: only an internal ID, the date it was created and the date you asked for deletion. Our own logs refer to these IDs, so we keep them.
  • Our security logs, which nobody can edit: what Cerkel staff did on your account, such as approving a store or opening it to help you (some entries name a store or an email address), and the entries made when you signed up on this site (the phone number and store name you entered, and the IP address and browser you used). We keep them to protect accounts and to answer legal claims.
  • If you ever paid Cerkel for a service, our invoices and payment records. Tax and accounting law requires us to keep them, for as long as it says.
  • Our database backups, which renew themselves: deleted data is gone from them within 30 days.

What other companies already hold

Messages already delivered on WhatsApp, orders already handed to the delivery company, and data sent to ad platforms you connected are held by those companies under their own terms. We can't delete their copies, so ask them directly. When you signed up on this site, our own ad and analytics accounts were told about it too: Meta and TikTok received your phone number in hashed (scrambled) form with the IP address and browser you used, and Google Analytics received the sign-up without your phone number. They keep these under their own terms.

Shopping at a store that runs on Cerkel? Your details belong to that store, so ask the store first (see our Privacy policy).
